Sneakers had the widest Best Offer gap of any category we measured, which makes this the category where asking prices mislead most.
In our study of 5,859 matched sales, sneakers showed the largest gap of any category: eBay's public sold page read high by a median of 20.0%, against 14.9% across all categories. That is because almost every pair above retail sells through a negotiated offer, and the public page publishes the asking price rather than the accepted one. Price a pair from that and you are a fifth above the market. The study.
We return what the buyer paid, with a best_offer flag on every row.
A size 10 and a size 13 are different markets for the same shoe, and sellers put the size in the title, so include it. Verified 12 October 2026, three year window:

StockX and GOAT publish their own sale prices, which are real but are their own market, after their own fees, for their own authenticated supply. eBay is a different and much larger pool with different pricing, and for anything outside the hype tier it is often the only pool with volume. Reading both is the honest approach.
Sneaker listings are full of replicas, used pairs and box only sales. Minus words handle it: Jordan 4 Retro size 10 -used -replica -box+only -kids. Keep it short otherwise, because every term has to appear in the seller's title.
