WOTC through modern, graded or raw, with first edition and language filters and three years of history behind every median.
A search for a Base Set Charizard returns proxies, custom art, damaged raw copies, empty packs and the wrong print run, all using the same words as the real card. Junk detection tuned for card titles strips that out, and the grader, grade, language and first edition filters do the rest, so a 1st Edition Shadowless comp never blends with an unlimited reprint.

Collectors search the way the card is printed: Celebi WOTC Black Star Promo 50, Blastoise Expedition Base Set 36. The number matters because the name does not identify the card. Search the full string and the card layer keeps the set and number together instead of matching every Blastoise ever listed.
A lot of vintage Pokemon trades on eBay Japan and the UK. Pin a marketplace with site, and add native_price=1 to get the amount the sale actually closed at in its own currency alongside the USD figure, read off the listing rather than converted by us.
Graded vintage closes as Best Offer constantly, and the public sold page shows the asking price on those sales, not the accepted one. Price a collection off asking prices and you overpay on exactly the cards that carry the value. With best_offer=1 every row carries what the sale really closed at.
