CompSniper marks Best Offer sales with a flag, which tells you the shown price is the asking price without telling you what the buyer actually paid. CompsAPI returns the accepted amount itself in the price field with best_offer=1, so offer heavy categories like watches, jewelry and graded cards price from real closes instead of wishful asks.
Every CompSniper plan tops out at 90 days of history. CompsAPI pages through up to 1,095 days for any search, which is what seasonality, depreciation curves and launch analysis actually need. If you only ever price against last month, both windows work; the moment a chart matters, 90 days is a wall.
The ladders meet at $9, $29 and $79, but the volumes differ: at $79 CompsAPI includes 100,000 requests where CompSniper includes 50,000, and CompSniper's 100,000 tier costs $129. At the top of the listed pages, $499 buys 1,000,000 requests here against $549 for 500,000 there. Both count one search page of up to 240 sales as one request.
Migration is a parameter rename: your keyword goes in q, filters move to condition, days and best_offer, and each row carries title, price, last_sold, format and shipping_cost. The API reference has the full schema. A free key takes one email, no card.
